Travel Layouts

One of the things I've been meaning to work on and always push to the side are layouts from our 2006 trip to the Baltic region.

I've collected papers and embellishments for years thinking 'this paper is perfect for that picture of....'.   You'd think with all this perfect material, I'd scrap something right?

Nah.  My focus has always been on the new.  As I go through everything I'm re-finding the stuff I purchased and its like new again.  I'm still putting stuff aside that I will never use.

Here are 3 quick layouts I did at the retreat to document some of my favorite stops on the cruise.
All over Denmark you find bikes.  They're on every corner.  I just found it fascinating that people can get around a city like this when everything is so far away where I live.  We're so used to cars and freeways.
 Studio Calico bike stamp.

A Flair for Buttons bike flair and Studio Calico stamp.
Nyhavn in Copenhagen.  My favorite place.  I liked to sit and people watch here.  All those colorful buildings are fun to look at too.  I pulled out those Heidi Swapp clear acetate letters too.
More AFFB flair, stamp is from Cocoa Daisy.

I tried to get a straight shot of this one but it just wouldn't work.  This is not my favorite layout but its done.   Papers are from Carta Bella.
Flair from a Flair for Buttons Etsy shop.

Got a few more to share but I still need to photograph them.  And shocker of all shockers, I started working on my December Daily.  I have all the stuff to get it done but I lost that drive.  I printed the pictures last night so we'll see what all I can get done before I go back to work.

Weekend Getaway Mini

In August, I was lucky enough to get away for a few days with my husband for a quick road trip north. We drove up to Berkeley to see my favorite band of all-time perform in the hometown.

I'm a Counting Crows freak to say the least.  I've been a fan since 1994 and love seeing them live.

When the chance came to see them in Berkeley I grabbed it, along with some VIP passes to meet the band.  They also included sound check.  Pretty awesome.

So my husband and I made a whole weekend of it.  I was lucky enough to know that the perfect supplies waited for me when I got home.  The August Scraptastic Kit featured guitars and music notes and a few previous Scraptastic kits were perfect for the rest of the book.  I collected some other supplies from Cocoa Daisy, Studio Calico and of course, a (flair) for buttons Etsy shop.

Everything is done except for the cover.  I still need to work on that.

I used up a lot of my older Chic Tags Road Trip tags as well as some of their newer supplies like the wood veneer.  The convertible stamp is from Cocoa Daisy.  I stamped that in orange ink and then embossed in orange to make it really stand out.

I think this is my favorite page in the album.  I used an October Afternoon 6x8 mini and it came with the 2x2 page protectors.  At first I struggled with how to use them and then this idea popped into my head.  I had made a playlist for the drive so I pulled some of our favorite songs (or songs that bring back good memories) and typed them up in word.  The Lets Rock stamp is from a Cocoa Daisy Kit.

Please don't laugh at my weird taste in music.

Title Help + Blog Hop Preview

This weekend......

There will be a chance to win a free set of {flair} and be inspired by the incredible Design Team.  Mark your calendars and follow the blogs this weekend!

And now.......

I need title help.  I've been sitting on this layout for over a month now and can't think of anything.  I'm usually pretty lame when it comes to titles for my pages but this one stumps me.  Its a picture of my son from the Calgary Stampede fair where he's playing that fishing game.

All papers and embellishments are from the October Afternoon Midway line.

Leftovers

I created this quick layout from leftovers.  I created a mini album kit for my LSS Perfect Day in Huntington Beach.  The kit will be on sale there and  I will share that tomorrow.  I fell in love with this Authentique line as soon as they debuted it.
