The diecut paper is from Jenni Bowlin. Wood frame is Crate Paper covered with washi tape. Chipboard alpha is from American Crafts. I painted it with general water colors.

Last Day of School
Since I just posted about the first day, its only fitting we look at the last day of the school year. The requested that each class wear a specific color scheme to fit into the rainbow theme. Nicks class was orange - he has plenty that color!

First Day of School
It came and went with a blur - just like the rest of life right now. Between the end of summer, the beginning of school and the new job taking its toll, its been a long few weeks.
We snuck in a quick crew cut before school started....
And then we took pictures out front on the first day of school. I got to use the frame I made.

Pending projects
I have several projects that are in the 'almost finished' stage. Almost finished means they need a title, journaling, stitching.....

Thats a pretty big stack.
And then there is this....
Thats my giveaway box. Or the stuff I make goody boxes out of and sell. I stuff a USPS Flat Rate box full of products I won't use, have duplicates of or only needed one thing from the pack and sell them for a flat rate of $32 (To US addresses only). That price includes the shipping. I try to get over $100 worth of stuff in each box. That means a great stack of papers and embellishments. I just cleaned out my Thickers box and added about 30 packs.
I have 5 boxes for sale right now and more on the way. As I clean out, go through kits etc, I add things to the giveaway box.
Each box is different. Different papers and embellishments. I throw in exclusives from Studio Calico kits like sequin butterflies, mistable hexagons etc.

Online classes
I started signing up for a few classes here and there. Nothing to committed since I don't have the free time to really participate. I love self-paced classes.
I signed up for Studio Calico's Summer Stamp School in June and loved it. Then I signed up for Jen Jockisch's Pop Off the Page class.
Since the content is in pdf format and there are a ton of detailed photos I decided to use the resources at the office to print the book out. I added in a little binding too. Love that the classes are all contained in the perfect book format. And the free printables? I used our best paper to print these out.
Interested in making your own class book? Visit a Fedex Office near you and ask for the frosted cover and black vinyl back. I printed my pdf's on our 32 lb bright white paper.

Body Art
I finally got around to making a page about my tattoo. I got this back in June when the Kings won the Cup. This is not something I normally do but I did it.
The last time the Kings were this close to winning the Cup was 1993. I was in high school and definitely not old enough to get a tattoo. But a friend and I both said if they won, we were going to get a tattoo as soon as we turned 18.
The Kings lost. No tattoo's. Fast forward 19 years and the Kings won it all. Right before my 35th birthday. If you follow the sport, you know the Kings are annual failures. They jump out of the gate and wow everyone but my February, they are usually circling the drain. Or, they start off slow and pick up the pace towards the end. Then they might make the first round, sneaking in at #8 or they miss it by mere points. This year was one of those years. The West was so close that anything could happen - and it did. The squeaked by in the 8th seed missing a higher seed by mere points (thanks to the San Jose Sharks and a little dirty move in the final minutes of a game.)
It all worked out in the end because the #8 team ended up upsetting every team they faced in both Conferences. This all coincided with my 35th Birthday. I had promised myself a tattoo regardless. So when they won, I had no excuse. I *had* to do it. My mom thought I was a wuss and wouldn't go through with it. Normally I am a wuss but I sucked it up this time.
I stuck with a theme of red and black. It matched the pictures and just seemed like the right combo for this one.
The background paper is Amy Tan. Flowers were cut out from more Amy Tan papers. I added some red embossing powder to bits of the flowers. And a tab of the black chevron ribbon.

Thank you
Finally got the kids thank you cards done and in the mail. Its been a crazy summer and I'm glad its over. I don't really care for the hustle and bustle of filling in the hours, working and trying to keep the house up.
It really is too much. But its over now. We are in our final 24 hours of summer vacation here and I'm excited.
School starts Tuesday morning and we have our outfit all picked out. We've been to school to 'meet the teacher' and find our cubby. We're all ready to go. Well, one of us is.
