Projects

Working late is never a good thing, unless you're so inspired by products in the warehouse that you break down and scrap.
This month, we are sponsoring Color Combos Galore.  I always have a hard time working with a given palette but maybe that because they are hardly every colors I would use.  Last week was a pink palette.  This week its oranges and greens.  More my style.

I pulled some random stuff from my stash in orange and green and started putting this together.
And I used my washi tape.  See, I told you I'd force myself to use it!

Visit Color Combos Galore to see more on Palette 175.

And a card I made for a friend.  Had to wait a few days to post it so she got it in the mail.

More washi tape.

What are you doing for National Scrapbook Day?

I'm going to be cropping.

22 hours of cropping to be exact.

My friend Laurie at Angel Scrappers has a fantastic venue where we meet once a month.  6 foot tables ALL to yourself.  Lots of light, onsite shopping and MORE!

So I took the plunge.  Stores are just not having events like they used too and since there are not many stores left in this area, I took matters into my own hands.

I teamed up with Laurie to bring this awesome crop to everyone!  Its centrally located for LA, OC and the IE.

For $50 you get 2 full days of cropping, a 6 foot table, 4 meals, prizes, contests, Vendor Fair and more!

I've started a Facebook Page where you can follow the crop details.  We'll be adding vendors to the Vendor Faire list as they sign up.

If you live in or around So Cal and want to join me check out the Facebook page for more details!

Official flyer coming soon!

You can't make this stuff up.....

I can't remember where I first saw this book, probably in one of my 25 or so parenting/family related magazines each month.

I'm always tearing pages out....
Anyway, I finally ordered it.  Kind of a Christmas present to myself.

I should have had this from the moment Nick could talk because there are always zingers flying out of his mouth.  You try to record them in scrapbooks but there have been so many that I know I'm forgetting some.

This book is going to be my quote diary.  Something I can hand him when he's an adult and laugh while he asks 'did I really say that?!?!'

Here's one from 1/10/11

We were playing with big boy legos not Duplos.  He was fascinated with all of the cool things you can do with the regular legos.  Duplos are so boring.

We're talking about a set like this:

I can't find my exact one on their site but its a yellow and black house.  Same concept.
Anyway, he was fascinated with all of the cool features, like the BBQ and the mailbox.
I started discussing with him the opportunities if he was good with his toys.  Maybe we could give Bodhi his Duplos and he can play with my legos.

I have about 8 buckets full of blocks just waiting until he's old enough.

He was very excited and played nice with the Lego house.

So I asked him if he wanted to give Bodhi the Duplos and move to the big boy blocks.

Nick: Yes.  We can give Bodhi the baby blocks.
Me: Thats so nice of you.
Nick: Can we drive up there now and give them to him?
Me: No, but we'll see him in a few weeks when Aunt Annette comes in from Germany
Nick: I want to go to Germamy.

My little traveler.

PS.. Daddy, if you're reading this, mommy really wants this house.  Or even this one.

Night with the Kings

January 3rd vs. Chicago

On the ride up.
Forgive the crooked picture but I was turned around in the front seat trying to take this out the side window on the opposite side of the car.

Downtown LA.

Kings goal - that red light of shame never gets old.

Wasn't the score I wanted to see but they put up a good fight.

The last of Christmas

Because its time to move on.

We took Nick to look at lights one night.
I was obsessed with a few houses.....

We stopped at G-Grandmas house in between for a potty break and to get hot chocolate......
Someone wouldn't sit still long enough to get his picture taken.

During the two VERY long weeks he was off from school, we played.  I let him create snowflakes on some really cool site - sorry the link is gone now so I can't tell you exactly where.

We went to see Santa.

We went to Farrell's.  I can't tell you how freaking excited I am that this place is open again.
Tried to get a decent shot of the tree lit up on Christmas Eve.  I'm no Karen Russell, but I'm pretty proud of my skillz.

And this is what a 3.5 year old looks like when he's in a video coma.
Parents, if you have a wild little boy, there is only way to tame them.  No, don't tie them to a chair.  Buy one of these Mighty Machine videos instead.  Someone recommended them and I'm so glad my mom got a bunch.  He sat for a week straight and watched the same video on replay.  I almost got caught up on work!
