Mini File Folder Mini

I received a new line of papers to work with from my LSS that I design for.  Authentique Renew.

I quickly threw this mini together using their mini file folders set.  You get 4 folders in the sheet.

Other products used are paper tape from Bella Blvd, Pink Paisle/Heidi Swapp silver letters and mistable stars, October Afternoon Mini Market letters, twine and ribbon from the shop, sequins and flair from this shop.  The folders are bound together using the twine.

The current state of my desk....

Its not pretty.  I've been trying to clean up the random stuff I've stashed underneath and around it but its a never ending project.

I really need to organize my pictures in some fashion because they've gotten out of hand.

The best part is, I have a space for the poor dog again.  He's been over in the corner of the room for a while and with the new desk and organization, I've made room for him where he wants to be.  Right at my feet.  Over in the corner, three feet away is just too far for the spoiled dog.  He's also in prime territory to catch any crumbs that might fall down when I snack.

I snapped some pictures with my phone real quick of the current project I'm working on.  I'm excited to finish and share with you soon.

I said I was forcing myself to use older product before I could use something new and this would be 'old'.  Its an Echo Park line from last summer.  I've very happy with how this is turning out.

Little Hockey Player

This kid is really getting into the game.  Last week his lesson was delayed due to an alumni game.  He got a chance to watch the players *I* grew up watching.  It was basically a fantasy camp where if you paid enough money, you got to spend the week with the alumni for the Kings including playing games with them.

We wandered around the practice facility to waste time.

 We watched a second game......

And finally it was our turn.

But first the zamboni needs to clean the ice.

He tends to attract attention wherever he goes in the facility including the old timers who saw him and wanted him on their team.

A few more

Two more layouts made with Echo Park.
My son is addicted to trains.  He eats, sleeps, breathes trains.  So when he struggles with something (like potty training or learning his letters), we offer him a trip on a real train if he succeeds.  It usually takes about a week and he's nailed down whatever he needs too and we get a nice family day out of it too.

We pack a bag with snacks and drinks and take the train down to San Diego.  Some of the cars have little tables between them so you can eat, play games etc on the ride down.  Its usually over an hour so we have lots of time to hang out.  The best part is the view.  A good chunk of the trip is along the coast and the views are breathtaking.

One from a couple of winters ago.  It stays pretty warm here late into the year.  Sometimes on warmer evenings we head down to the beach to catch the sunset.

Fun in the Sun

I used a lot of older Echo Park lines in an effort to use them up.  I realized I had way too much in my Echo Park folder.  In fact, it doesn't even fit IN the folder anymore.  (I have one of those Cropper Hoppers with the hanging file folders - one folder for each company.)  I'm down to a few full sheets and LOTS of scraps.  Time to finish the packs off by making some cards.

I got out my never before used Studio Calico mask for this one and some Mister Hueys.  I haven't stitched for a while so I thought I'd dig out the box of floss.
Sequins.  I don't know why but they're fun and I want them in every color.

Monkeying around

I've been on a crafting streak lately and can't stop making layouts.

I'm even working on several special projects at the same time and I can't wait to post.

I threw these together last weekend for some quick, fun layouts.

And another quick one....

Both use Echo Park lines from last year.  Yes, I'm a hoarder.  I hoard.  I buy too much.  Its so easy to do on my lunch break at work.  I click a button and a few days later, the latest and greatest show up at my door.  Eventually I use it.  At least thats the plan anyway.  Right now, I'm forcing myself to make 3 things with older lines before I can touch the new stuff.  So far, its working.

I've got a stack of layouts to share this week!

I know you'll be a star!

I can't remember what song this is from but I know I've heard it before.

These are old My Minds Eye papers.  No idea when or where I got them from.  I'm still forcing myself to use older stuff before I can use my newer stuff.  ;)

I'm trying to work through my large stack of stuff.

I did some stitching on this.  The stars are a Silhouette file.  Rubons are old Studio Calico.

Valentine's Tradition

What?  Valentines?  That was weeks ago.

 He waited patiently........
For his once a year box of candy from See's.  The heart box has been a tradition in our family for over 50 years.  My grandfather has purchased boxes of candy for all the 'girls' in the family over the years.  The tradition carries on with N now.

And then we tear into that box.
Because nothing is better than a box of See's candy!
