Ashley Rock Sketch Contest

I'm a little late posting this but I just finished it.

Planning a birthday party

I'm gearing up and getting into birthday mode.  I have 3 months to finalize the details of the party for my soon to be 5 year old.

5 years old!  Where the heck did the time go??

Other than his first birthday party, I've been pretty low key with the celebrations but since this is #5 I figured I might as well put a little more thought into it.

Right now, his world revolves around trains and hockey.  We've done trains so hockey it is!

I've been slowly gathering the info I need to get this party planned.

It will be a skating party for N and his friends at our local rink:

Then there are the cool invites:
courtesy of Etsy (only with the LA Kings).

Our favorite mascot will be there:

He gets to skate with the kids and hand out Kings goodie bags.

And then the cake.  I can't decide yet what I want but it will be Kings themed.

Possible party favor......
And decorations courtesy of Party City:

Now I just need to coordinate the Mascot and Rink and I can put everything together.......

Prairie Hill Cards

I had a LOT of leftover scraps from that last layout so I threw some cards together.  I've been horrible about sending cards to Operation Write Home lately and I need to rectify that.

I used a little embossing on this one.  Hearts are *shocker* Studio Calico veneer hearts with American Crafts Zing embossing powder on them.

Chevron ribbon is available *here*.

Project Life {Week 13}

My tiny week 13....

I had a ton of pre-orders come in last week and it prompted some of that aforementioned purging and organizing.  One line I got in was Basic Greys PB&J and Whats Up lines.  Throw in some Lily Bee, Studio Calico, more washi tape and a bunch of other fun stuff and I've got a room full of fun stuff to use.  In fact, some of it has already been put to good use.

Organization breeds creativity

I wish I had time and the mojo each day to sit down and create something but I don't.  In a perfect world right?  So when I can't/don't want to create something, I find something to do.  Like troll Pinterest.  Or clean up my room.  There is always something that needs organizing right?

That was my mission last week.  In the middle of everything I lost my stack of layouts and cards to photograph.  Whoops!  But I found them.  I took pictures of everything and have enough pictures for 2 weeks of blog posts!  Yay!

Here is just the beginning of my creativity!

I used the new Pink Paislee Prairie Hill line.
Kraft folder is from Jillibean Soup.

I was serious about the Studio Calico veneer.....  (Its going to be
one of those hidden Mickeys - for all you Disney fans out there.)

The lighting has been horrible here since the clouds rolled back in.  If I had
taken photos of my projects when the sun was out I might have better photos of
my projects.  Oh well!
I dug out my trusty Glossy Accents for this one and coated the kite and string
with it.  Just to make it pop off the page.

And if you're interested in anything I'm getting rid of, you can find images and prices here.

And the cleaning continues.....

Because I have WAY too much stuff that I won't use.  Because I keep finding boxes from the move and I'm shocked I kept certain things while packing.

So I listed a bunch of items on 2 Peas FSOT boards again.  Here's a link to the Flickr page with everything listed.  If you're interested, let me know.  The Goody Boxes are a great deal.  Lots of items in each box.  So if you know anyone that likes an assortment send them my way.  Or new scrappers.  They love getting boxes of product.

For Sale

Prices are all listed in the description.

Unpacking also means organizing the stuff I find into the current room setup.  In case you missed this post with pictures of my room, here's a link.....

That card catalog is my prized possession.  I got that for my birthday a couple of years ago before we moved and I never figured out what to put in it.  I use it now for my inks and stuff.  Each drawer is a different color.   I've added a few things to the drawers this week.

I added the little cups of buttons, Martha Stewart flocking, micro beads
and anything else I came across.

I needed more space for my growing washi tape obsession.  I've have 4 more rolls come this week and it wasn't fitting in the slot I had for it in my big spinning rack.  Plus it wasn't in there by color and that was starting to annoy me.  So I pulled it out and reorganized it.  Then I added my 4 new colors that came on Saturday.

Project Life {Week 12}

This is a long one.  It took me a while to get it all figured out and instead of trying to cram this week into one 2 page spread, I left all the rules out this week.
Main Spread - My stitched map.  I used a Silhouette file to cute out the
state of CA with map paper.  Then I stitched a rough map of our journey.

I'm on a mission to use a Studio Calico veneer on every project.
Studio Calico camera stamp and Shabby Chic Crafts tag

I included the brochure from the lodge we stayed in.

Flair.  You know I love her flair.  She recently lowered her
prices and added more flair.

Yosemite title was cut with my Silhouette.

Another large photo cut up to fit into the smaller pockets.
 And more veneer.

I still have a small stash of crocheted stars I bought from someone
on Etsy last year.
A combination of my favorite things right now.  Those
labels from Aja and Studio Calico veneer!
Look....more veneer!
A pressed penny from the aquarium.
To keep things fresh, I mix my page protectors.  I use the PL mixed box
with a sample of all styles and the WRMK ones.  This was from WRMK
and included a 2x12 slot.  I had a bunch of pics form my iphone and instead
of printing them and making *another* 2 page spread, I printed them
small and used them in the strip.
As I was planning these pages, I took 6 of my favorite photos and
had them printed as 8x12's at Costco.  I used some in PL and others
be scrapped on regular 12x12 layouts.
These were shots of Big Sur looking north and south.

And that is Week 12!
