The cutest mailman

Another page I finished this weekend.  This one came together quickly from a sketch and a Studio Calico kit.

I used a combination of Story Hour and add-ons (Narrative, Encyclopedia and Atlas.)
A few Silhouette shapes (stamp and Love)
And a little {flair} and twine.

My favorite way to use my {flair} + Week 15

Flair is like chocolate for me - it goes with everything!

My favorite place to use flair is in my Project Life.  I thought I'd show you the brief history of {flair} in my PL so far this year.

I finally got around to finishing week 15.  I'm falling further and further behind but I spent some time over Memorial Day weekend getting caught up.  Week 16 & 17 are almost done!  YAY!

Just a heads up.....my PL is going to be hockey heavy over the next few weeks.  Between 2-3 skating lessons and the playoffs, our life is all about hockey right now.

And this weeks {flair}.

Some string fun

I got this card from a friend this past Mothers Day.  Love how she used the twine to make balloon strings!

Grab some string in the shop and start making your own balloon strings!

Nametag with {flair}

Until I get my permanent nametag at work, I have to wear this temporary one.  A simple white piece of cardstock that some guy scribbled my name on.

Its been killing me!  I needed something a little more.....fun.

So I cut up some My Minds Eye paper and added my name in Thickers and a little {flair}.

I'm also wearing an apron for now because I've got to have all kinds of tools with me (hole punch, pen, scissors, box cutter......)  I had this apron made a few years ago by one of the 2 Peas Garden Girls.  I can't remember her name and she's no longer on the team.  But she made aprons and I had her make me one since I can't sew to save my life!

I get lots of compliments on the apron and the nametag!

Winning!

Yeah, that Charlie Sheen saying is sticking with me.  I like it.

So, I have some notes on winners....

First, the winner of my FLAIR giveaway.

Mary Jo Rhoda!  Please email me at ohmy17(at)yahoo.com.  I need your mailing address and the flair set you want.

Mary Jo Rhoda said...

How cool, Erica!!!
I love flair, too :)
Congratulations!
And in other 'winning' news....  my Kings made it to the Stanley Cup Finals.

This is big.  Huge really.  The last time they made it this far was 1993.  And by far, this years team is better than the 1993 team - even with Wayne Gretzky.  His ego overshadowed anyone else on the team and between that and the 'stick incident' they were doomed.
Now, they have all the right tools, the right players and the right coach to lead them to victory.

So while I battle through this really tough week (emotionally and physically), I have the Finals to look forward too.
My mom and I made the hour long drive up to LAX to greet the team with about 4000 other fans.  What a great time.  Despite the plane being over an hour late, it was still worth the wait.  The players were happy to see us and most tweeted that they couldn't believe so many of us showed up.  Even they were video taping us on their drive out.
I grabbed this video off Youtube but there is a better version here.
I have some videos and pictures on my phone but they aren't the best.  Good enough for me to scrap though!

Thats our mascot, Bailey, with the Campbell Conference Trophy.
And today, Staples Center is getting a minor facelift.

WOYWW 5/23

If you're curious about the WOYWW, check out Julia's blog.

Here's my desk this week.

An order from Stop & Scrap.
A few Studio Calico stamps.  They had a Mothers Day sale I couldn't resist!

 New washi tape.....
New Studio Calico masks.....
And these little bowls from Crate & Barrell......  they hold my Studio Calico veneer.  Each one has a different design.  This one holds my stars.

Isn't that happy?  I got two more boxes of stars in this week.  That brings the total to 10 boxes and for some reason, I want to order more!  I need a full bowl and right now, its about half full.

Somewhere under the new stuff is Project Life Week 15.  (Yeah, I'm that far behind!)

More good news

Last week was just too much!

First, I made the DT for my favorite flair shop.  (Don't forget the giveaway that ends tomorrow.)

Then I was hired to work at the newest Hobby Lobby store opening in my area on June 1st.  I am up for the Scrapbook Dept lead which would be really awesome - if I get it.  Right now, we are in the setup process and I get to see everything from the ground up.  Very exciting!

I've been doing a little crafting - not much.  More shopping than crafting.

I used the new Basic Grey PB&J line along with some Studio Calico veneer.  Flair is from Studio Calico.

I totally had something planned at post 700....and I missed it.  Then post 750.  Missed that one too.

So I've been keeping a close eye on my blog post counter so that when I hit post #800 I could go a giveaway.

I have lots to share today.  ;)

First, I made my first Design Team.  I've never really tried for anything (yet) - its on the list for {2012}.  But when Shelley announced a call for her Flair DT, I jumped all over it.

I was introduced to Shelleys work through Maya Road and her incredible album a couple of years ago.  (I'm trying to find that post but my labels aren't working.....grrr....)

Anyway, when she announced her Etsy shop a couple of months ago, I bought a bunch of her flair.  I don't know what it is about this little piece of metal but I {heart} them.  Whenever I work on a card or layout, I pull my big bin of flair down and rifle through it to see if there is a piece I can use.

When I work on Project Life, I do the same thing.

She puts up new designs almost every week.  I make my wishlist and when the paycheck rolls in, I buy the sets I like.  I love having them sitting on my desk ready to go.

And then she emailed me last week telling me I had made the cut!  I'm officially a DT'er for the flair!

Yay!

You can read about the other girls on Shelley's blog.

To see my name up there with people like Megan Klauer and Diane Payne!  I'm so excited!

Anyway, to celebrate, leave a comment and I will give away ONE pack of Shelley's flair.  Comments will remain open until Tuesday night (5/22).

Rules:  Leave a comment on THIS blog post for a chance to win.  I will use Random.org to pick one winner.  Winner will get their choice of one Flair set from Shelley's shop.

How's that for a  #800 celebration?

Curious how I used the flair?  You can see examples here, here, here and here.  Look for more ideas soon!

I'm off to roll around in my pile of flair!  Happy Friday!

Easy Canvas Prints, Mothers Day, Hockey and some crafty stuff......

I was contacted last year by Easy Canvas Prints and asked if I would order a print to check them out, print a review etc etc.

You can see the previous reviews here.  That photo was a gift for my father on his birthday.

Anyway, I've been so happy with their service over the last year and have ordered several prints from them in various sizes.  These make fabulous gifts for grandparents!  They also make fun, easy home decor and the quality is top notch.

Right now they have a deal posted on their Facebook page.  Get an 8x10 FREE - just pay the shipping.

In case you aren't a Facebook person, heres the link to the FREE canvas.

I'm in the process now of uploading and ordering for Fathers Day.

Mothers Day...... was spent with family (of course) but my family are hockey fans so we were also sitting around watching a hockey game.  How dare they schedule Mothers Day on a hockey day??  ;)

Well they won.  4-0.  A shutout.  On Mothers Day.

And there were some canvases for Mothers Day as well I just don't have a photo of them (yet).  I'm working on that.

They were all wrapped in kraft paper (I love this stuff!) and Bakers Twine.

My son wrote out his own cards this year!

I still have some exciting news to share but I can't just yet.  And now that the sun is perfect, I'll be photographing a few more projects to share here!

Hangin' around

I'm here.

Hanging around. I'll have some posts this week. Crafty posts. Life updates.

I've been at the rink watching this guy get better at skating and stopping.

I've been scrapping but only a little bit.

I started a new job - but more on that later.

I've been watching my team battle through the 3rd round of the playoffs. The last time they went this far was 1993. So it's time.

I'll be back!
