July Recap

I keep meaning to post and then I forget or something else comes along to hold my attention. Now the month is practically over.....

Its been a busy month for the store as I try to clear out the old product to make room for the new.

4th of July - came and went. Took Nick to see his first fireworks show. Loved it. Can't wait for next year.
And had homemade ice cream.
And Sparklers.
Then we took him to the Lego Store in Ontario to help a Master Builder build and 8 foot pirate model. Sounds like fun right? Poor guy was being run over by the bigger kids in their frenzy to build build build. One kid was building three sets at once and he did them all in under a minute. He'd run over, deliver the three bricks and then run back to the table for more. I'm sure there wasn't much enjoyment in it for him. Seriously, it wasn't a competition.

We got a certificate and a $5 gift card to use in the store so we treked back over there to look for a Duplo set for him. He's in love with the plain blocks and the Zoo sets right now so we got a couple of those to hold him over until his birthday.
They have this cool wall where you can buy single legos. You pay a flat fee for the bucket and fill it. You can get plain blocks or all the cool specialty ones. I bought a bunch of trees, flowers and picket fences for my next Lego project.
And on the way back to the Lego store, Nick caught sight of the fish tank in the Rainforest Cafe. I though we'd never get out of there!! We had to drag him away, kicking and screaming. Leaving fish is not his favorite thing. I'm sure he could sit and stare at them all day.

Then we did Goofys Kitchen this weekend for his birthday party. He enjoyed every second of that brunch. The food was excellent and the entertainment just the right pace. About every half hour, they announce something is going on in Goofys Kitchen and the kids all race to the buffet area. Some song and dance routine and then back to the tables.

The buffet was delish! Everything you could imagine. An entire breakfast and lunch selection laid out. And the odd thing was shaped like Mickey. Who doesn't love Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes and waffles?
Some characters come around and sit at your table while you eat. Nick seemed to get a kick out of everyone that stopped by and I think he was the only kid under 5 who wasn't afraid of them. He was fascinated.

Today is his real birthday and I can't wait for him to wake up. He's the special boy today and the family will be spoiling him rotten.

Heather?

Are you out there?  You won my RAK.  Get back to me before Friday at 5 pm to claim your prize.  If not, I'll pick another winner.  I know there were a lot of you who wanted it.

Aw man, its been such a busy month.  July hates me.

I overbooked myself as usual.  As if I didn't already have enough to do, I booked crops for almost every weekend.  Throw in the holiday, birthdays and CHA and you have one busy month.

I'm excited though.  August is pretty much empty except for the new product that starts rolling in.

Really excited about CHA.  I'm starting to search the blogs and sites for Sneak Peeks for everyone.  I'm hoping there are a few more in the coming weeks.  I'm really happy with the new lines from Pink Paislee.  They always outdo themselves and I love that.

Just got an update from Making Memories.  Lots of goodies in the newsletter but I'll wait to share that later.  One of the sneaks is already on their blog but its gets better!

American Crafts too.  Their paper doesn't usually sell for me but there are some really cute patterns out this time around.  I'll have to see what they look like in person.  Very excited about the new Thickers.  I might have to do a Thickers RAK soon to clear out some of the excess Thickers I have on my Clip It Up.  That poor thing is overflowing with Thickers.  Every time I make an effort to use a bunch of them, AC comes out with more!  Ack!  I told my husband that if I die he must bury me with my Thickers and Glossy Accents.

What else is exciting me?  Oh, I figured out the reason my Flip videos weren't posting last time around so there WILL be videos from the show when I get back.  Stupid Windows OS.  Worthless.

Replaced my missing planner with a sleek new one that goes through December of next year.  But with the abuse this one is taking, I'm not sure its going to make it that long. But I love it!  Every day is filled with blog post ideas, sale dates and other tidbits of store info.  But it keeps me organized.

After a very busy week, I plan on taking Saturday and Sunday off to crop with my good friend Cori.  (HI!)  We're pulling an all-nighter.  Or an as late as we can go nighter.  There will be frosty, fruity alcoholic beverages involved so look for layouts with crooked pictures, possibly some funny pictures and who knows what else.  I'm sending the man and little man away for the weekend.  Don't want to keep them up with our antics....

And maybe I'll get around to taking pictures of the stack of layouts I finished at a crop last week.  Too much going on.

So, Heather, send me an email - bmw1367@gmail.com to claim your Lil Davis RAK.  If not, some other lucky person wins it.

RAK Winner

And the winner is....

Blogger heather said...

Hi! I would love to share the product. My 7 year old daughter and I split up everything we get so she can scrapbook too.

Heather, email me at bmw1367 (at) gmail dot com with your mailing address and I will get your goodies in the mail.

I was laughing reading some of your comments.

Living close to a manufacturer - yes, its tough.  Especially when they do warehouse sales and everything is a buck!!  I was totally into the OLD Lil Davis.  They had a lot of chipboard, canvas and fun stuff.  Totally miss it.  BUT, I have too much of it.

I am cleaning out for the new CHA stuff.  Cleaning out the store and my personal stash.  I've been pretty good about using the new stuff when I get it but the poor older stuff is cramping my style.  I have a new RAK coming this weekend so stay tuned.  :)

Looks like I'm now a....

Habs fan....

Cammy signs with the Habs.  At least when he was with Calgary I got to see more of him.  Now that he's in Montreal - I'm going to need to renew my Center Ice account.

Oh well, he got a raise!!

Just waiting for the dust to settle on free agency before I freak out anymore.

See the post below for the giveaway.
