On my iPod

and my iPhone and iPad.  Because I'm an Apple freak.  You know what they say 'An Apple a day keep the doctor away.'  The PC Doctor that is.  2 years virus and upgrade free and still running smooth.

Anyway, back to my playlist.  I've added a few songs this week worth mentioning.

First, this one: (I'm addicted to this song.  I have to listen to it at least once an hour.  )
Foster the People - Pumped Up Kicks

And then I love this one too:
Airborne Toxic Event - Changing

How about this one?  Such Great Heights - Postal Service

Cake - Long Time
And I jumped on the Adele bandwagon a couple of weeks ago.  I pretty much downloaded everything she's done BUT this song is my fave.
A few others trending right now....

Brandon Flowers
Counting Crows (they've been trending since 1993 BEFORE Mr. Jones)
The Script
The Temper Trap

Because its funny

I love this little head.  It looks just like his dad's head.  Round.  Charlie Brownish.  You can see the ears too.
I sat behind them at Disneyland on Big Thunder Mountain.

Have I mentioned that I love this little head.

Did anyone call a tow truck?

My moms transmission went out on her Durango recently so we had it towed to the repair shop.  Of course, Nick was off school the morning they guy came to get it so in typical boy fashion, he was parked at the curb watching every detail of the pickup.

He even asked the guy when he got there 'if he was the tow truck man?'
Thats my truck.  The Kings-Mobile.  I used to have a sticker that covered my entire back window that said 'Kings Rule'.  I was so sad when I had to take that off but it was peeling.

He watched every move the guy made and then later.....

He explained in detail how he hooked the car up and put it on the truck.  My little Italian.  Using his hands to talk.

End of year teacher gifts

I didn't get a chance to do everything I wanted and since the room mom organized a larger gift from the entire classroom I went with what I had.

I found some of those plastic tubes from SRM and decorated them to look like flowers on top.

They are filled with candy sunflower seeds.

The tags are cut from my Slice Basics card (the one that comes with the machine.  The one I've never used before because its just 'basic'.  I always use my other cards.  I might be dragging the basics card out again.)

Butterflies are from an older Martha Stewart punch.

And it all came together.

Then after playing with Tattered Angels mists, glazes and glams a couple of weeks ago, I tried to make my own gift bags.  I used the Pink Paislee/House of 3 papers from last summer and covered the front and back of a kraft handled gift bag with them.

I used some of my favorite colors right now to ink them up.

And since these papers are pretty much gone, I'm working on making my own.  Look for a tutorial in the coming weeks showing you how to make your own resist papers.

Here are my winners.  Two large goodie boxes full of paper and letters.

random.org chose #5 and #8.

Patricia said...

Wow, thanks for the chance!

Abbey said...
Such fun!

Patricia and Abbey need to email me at admin@yourscrapbookstash.com with your mailing address and I'll get your goodie boxes in the mail.

I have a third box of supplies and that is being sent to Nikki Sivils for the Joplin, MO Tornado victims.

And now, those yummy photos I promised......
I made these cupcakes for Memorial Day.  Fresh strawberries and blueberries over fluffy white frosting and chocolate cupcakes.

And I made these for my cousins baby shower next month.  Just the beginning of my sage green/chocolate brown obsession.

And now that my dad is up in Calgary for work, Nick is worried he'll never come home.  He keeps asking where grandpa is and we try to explain that he'll come home once a month.  Since he doesn't understand the concept of time yet I created a chain of paper rings.  I got the idea from Stephanie Howell who makes one of these whenever her husband deploys.  Each day, he removes a ring and knows that grandpa is one more day closer to coming home.

How do you Smash?

This post is much happier.  I promise.

This is an enabling post.

Now that you have your Smash, what do you put in it?

So far, I have memorabilia and pictures.

Here is a sample of my summer Smash.

I used my Slice Summer card for the front page.  I couldn't leave it blank.  It needed something.

I have a flag from Farrell's .
A few more form my book:

And I bought a new toy.  (Here's the enabling part....)

The Canon Selphy.  (Click the link above to purchase.)  I love that this printer is small, lightweight and prints easily.  I can only print a 4x6 photo BUT you can also print 2-up, 4-up, 8-up and an index print.  Each print takes about 1 minute to print out.  Instant photos.  And I love the quality.

You buy the paper/ink sets like this.  Each box gives you enough to print 108 4x6 photos. If you like to print smaller photos, you get more.  No wasted ink or paper.  When its done, you throw it away.

I've been using it to print 4-ups.  4 different pictures on a page.  You get little wallet sized photos.  Perfect for Smashing.....

See how I sold you on that?  But wait!  There's more!

You can print directly from your SD cards.  It has slots in the front for all the different cards.  Plug it in and print.  You can also load them onto a USB device and print.  OR, you can print from your phone.  I plug my iPhone in and print my phone pictures.  The one downside is it won't print the Hipstamatic photos.  I still order those form Scrapbookpictures.com.  You can also purchase a bluetooth attachment and print wirelessly.

So wait.  I got another toy.  I've had this one for a while.

Its the mini one.  I really don't need the large one.  I like the little wallet sized poloroids it puts out.  It has settings for sunny, cloudy and indoors so you pretty much get the perfect picture every time.

So how are you going to Smash?
