I'm a bad blogger.

But thats all about to change.  I've managed to get the morning off from work to help out my sons class at school.  I'm the room mom so I'm in charge of the Harvest Party.

That also means, after I shipped him off to school for the morning with dad, I have a couple of hours to take pictures of my growing pile of finished layouts to share here.  I've been working so many hours lately that I leave before the sun comes up and I'm home after its dark.  Its only going to get worse when the clocks change next week!  Yikes!  My boss might catch me taking pictures of my stuff on my lunch hour.  ;)

Anyway, I have a few things to share, not much, but its something.

Last week I posted my Dude! layout here on the blog and also at 2 Peas and Studio Calico.  I was contacted by an editor at ScrapbookUpdate.com asking if she could feature my layout.

That was certainly a first for me!

In other news, something else thats been keeping me busy was our Halloween Party.  It was a success and we had a blast.

Some highlights.......

The table.  Orange table cloth with black cheesecloth over it.
 Candy Corn cupcakes.
Ghost toast.  Sorry.  My mom and I made spooky shaped toast for the cheese spread.  We used ghost and pumpkin cookie cutters on sourdough and then toasted it in the over for a couple of hours.
My dip.  Its a cream cheese, pineapple, green onion dip that everyone loves.  I shaped it into a witches hat and covered it with the nuts.  Normally its in a ball or log shape.
Snack mix.  M&M's, pretzels, popcorn and candy corn.
Halloween punch.  We froze water in a rubber glove for the floating hand.
Papers are from the Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor papers and the labels are from Michaels and I believe they were K & Co.
 Witch leg cupcakes.
Candy Corn centerpiece.  Those would be the washi covered tealights I was working on last week.
 Our blood candles.
Time to carve pumpkins!  So serious.  (And yes that is a piece of tape over his mouth.  I don't know why.....)
My grandmother (and her sister (in the pink shirt)).  My grandmother has never carved a pumpkin before.  Ever.
It was the men against the women it seems.  They all picked their side.
My dad.  He takes this kind of thing seriously.

Nick took over my grandmothers pumpkin and added his touch!
My cousin Kim and his pumpkin.
 The final result!

The air up here

is apple scented.  Every year we make the hour drive to Apple Country in Oak Glen, CA.  Its always packed but that just adds to the experience.  Every year we attempt to do the U-Pick and we never get there in time.  This year we went later in the day (instead of rushing up there) and were lucky enough to get into the U-Pick area.  I don't know if less people did it this year or if they allowed more people in but there was no one there where we drove up.  They were all at the actual farms down the road.

N found acorns - he got so excited because he knows these are 'fall' items and we just don't have anything like that around the house.
On weekends, they have a kids area with train rides and stuff like this big slide.
 U-Pick Pumpkins.....
Found a bee in a flower.

U-Pick Apple Orchards.  They left hay bales and apple crates out.  There was a mini portrait session going on in almost every row.

He decided to ham it up.
 With dad.
 Apple tasting.
Finally getting to pick our own.
He picked only the best Golden Delicious just for Grandma - her favorite.

 A view down the valley.
He's like a little old lady with her pocket book.

 Red Delicious - MY favorite

After picking we headed down to one of the farms to have cider and donuts.  YUM!
