This year was no different. Except, our sister site (Stash to Treasure) put out a kit and class that was a December Daily.
With the holidays and the store being extremely busy, my December Daily sat. I had the cover and Day 1 completed.
I made a promise to myself this year that I would finish. For the past 3 years I've started and then dropped the project getting as far as Day 11 one year. Instead of trashing another half finished project, I am determined to finish. Its like a resolution.
I saw January slipping away from me and no time to scrap. Until.....the rain came. 2 weeks it rained. And then the warehouse leaked. This required a lot of rearranging on our part to keep the orders flowing through the system. I also couldn't work during the day while construction was going on. That pretty much left a lot of hours to scrap.
With a long list of layouts and card ideas in my mind, I turned to the December Daily. I *will* finish this thing.
So here are days 1-14. I'm slapping myself on the back for reaching a new point in this adventure. Day 15 has been started and day 16-19 are planned.
Cover (used stitching templates from Kinsey Wilsons Etsy Shop)
Day 1 - Christmas Card photo (October Afternoon paper, Elles Studio tag, Shabby Chic Crafts Tag, Jillibean Soup tag, Jillibean Soup Christmas Chestnut Soup paper, Making Memories Bling)
I card our card in two.
Day 2 - putting up the tree (Making Memories papers, Shabby Chic Crafts tags, Maya Road Kraft envelopes....)
Day 3 - Elf Yourself.
Day 4 & 5 - Elf on the Shelf and lights on the tree
Day 6 - Disneyland!
Day 7 - My one cool page. I used a Starbucks coffee cup for the pictures of our drinks.
I added some detailed snowflakes on the front to enhance the ones already on the cup.
Day 8 - Santa
Day 9 - Christmas movies
Day 10 & 11 - Disney again (Having a pass is awesome!)
Day 12 & 13 more Disney
Day 14 Snow at Disneyland

I really like the stitching of that tree! I am still working on my DD but promised myself to finish it in Feb. Going alright sofar.
ReplyDeleteI didn't! *sob sob* But i did manage to hang up some Christmas decor though. LOL
ReplyDeleteWould you look at all of those projects??!!! WOW - and each one so amazing. My favorite, though, hands down is that stitched christmas tree card - so very creative!! I'm lucky to get a couple cards a week made - hoping that when I retire I will have more time to spend on this papercraft passion of mine!
ReplyDeleteI didn't do one, but this is such a cute mini!! I love it!! I did make a mini about our holiday trip to the Nutcracker Ballet - here's the link - http://whatabunchofscrap.blogspot.com/2010/12/nutcracker-ballet-mini-album.html
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing your mini, I think I want to do one next year though!!
Love your Daily Album!! The cover is gorgeous!! No, I didn't do one this year. If I plan way ahead I might try one next year :)
ReplyDeleteYour album is beautiful! I had to laugh at the question...did I 'do' one? Let's say it's still a work in progress and you are ahead of me. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! YOur pages look great! I don't do a December daily--because I am afraid I would never get it done either! LOL
ReplyDeleteWOW! I am sooooo super impressed! I have always WANTED to do a December Daily or any sort of holiday recap project, but time always seems to be limited. However, I do think this is something I will want to actually put in my schedule to do.
ReplyDeleteI am thoroughly impressed! thanks for the chance to win on this super-duper blog hop fun!
I can honestly say that I have never attempted the December Daily though I always want to. I make lots of ornaments for friends and family but that's about it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the Daily!! I LOVE that stitched tree...will go check her site. I don't do dailys or a recap project, but I do tons of xmas layouts ... I could put them all together and have a "recap" book!
ReplyDeleteLove the layout!!! I did not do a december daily... I just finished up halloween layouts so I am a bit behind LOL :) Thanks for showing off yours!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a BEAUTIFUL mini! Love the stitched tree on the cover. I didn't do a December daily- I'm trying to avoid Christmas as the holiday theme is SUPER hard for me to scrap- no idea why.
ReplyDeleteNo December Daily for me ;( too busy with other holiday prep I guess. No kids either so I don't have that many special moments to capture. But we did have a very rare foot of snow for NC, where I live, the day after Christmas and did capture a fun photo of my dogs. http://scraptravelbark.blogspot.com/2011/01/snow-dance.html
ReplyDeleteI have it put together (just need to add finishing touches), all the journaling is done, I just need to print and add the pictures.
ReplyDeleteI have not gotten to my December pictures yet but I will try to soon!
ReplyDeleteI had every intention of making a Dec Daily album but didn't get that done. I haven't scrapped my Christmas photos yet either! M.U.S.T. do that...
ReplyDeleteHaven't tackled it yet, but I LOVE your album!! Just too neat!
ReplyDeleteI didn't do a December daily this year but I love the idea of it...maybe next year!

ReplyDeleteI started my December Daily....but haven't finished it yet :(
ReplyDeleteI did not do a December Daily, I just know it would not get done! I do a recap of my son's visit with santa in a premade Hallmark album, I add some embellies and journal, but that is about it! Good for you for working on it!
ReplyDeleteYes, I participated in December Daily 2010. Today is actually my self-imposed deadline for completing it! I'm so happy to see your gorgeous DD post because I'm inspired to meet my goal and actually get mine finished tonight (it's about 75% complete)!
ReplyDeleteI finished one. I did not order the kit and I did not make it a Christmas album either. I am working on the Christmas daily journal, much more work than I thought it would be. I am having fun with it though. Here is the album that I created from my stash. http://wendystnt.blogspot.com/2011/01/stt-dec-daily.html
ReplyDeleteDid not get to a December daily again this year...had pneumonia for an excuse this year though...loved yours!
